Where does the dog sleep?

Some people, including my mother, and my sisters in law, expressed horror at my reply to the above question... See, they think that a dog belong in the dog house, located in the garden, obviously.

"You let the dog in the house???!!!"

Umm, yeah? First of all, we didn't get a dog to keep it away from us. We got a dog to share our life with. And second, Doberman is not the type of dog to banish to the dog house.

Dobermans are a short coated breed which means that there is NO CHOICE as to where he will stay. The Doberman is a HOUSE dog and cannot survive being in the cold or heat.

"Well, cannot you keep her in the garage then?"

Umm, nope. They love to be where the "action" is at all times. They need to be around their family constantly. If your lifestyle is such that you cannot spend long periods of time with this breed, or you work long hours on end, this will not work with a Doberman.
